About Us
At Ryerson University, the WEAO group supports student interest in the water environment by providing an avenue for professional development by liaising with the New Professionals Committee of Ontario. We welcome both undergraduate and graduate students in all programs to join us in events such as technical seminars, workshops, and treatment plant tours. We hope to spread awareness of how critically important access to fresh drinking water is and how acting locally can help maintain a healthy water environment.
Initiated in 2007, the Ryerson Student Chapter has a strong reputation within its community and over 150 student members. Guided by Dr. Manuel Alvarez-Cuenca of the chemical engineering department, we strive to touch upon topics known in theory but applied and practiced in reality. Earning first place in 2010 for the student design competition, our team of student designers.

Attend technical seminars, water and wastewater treatment tours, and social events to learn a little bit more about water quality and healthy environmental practices.
